SATURDAY 2/14/26–THE TIME MACHINE WITH DON TANDLER–FEBRUARY 14, 1973 (WABC)
3PM-6PM ET
Survey Guy” Tom Natoli has been heard on Pop Gold Radio since 2016 and does at least two shows each month. In addition to chart information, Tom “drops some musical knowledge” about every song he plays, providing some tidbits behind the hits that perhaps you previously didn’t know.
One Saturday each month, Tom is in the Time Machine with theme shows and, in recent years, has presented the Top Motown Hits of the 60s, the First Wave of the British Invasion, The Top Doo Wop & Group Harmony Songs of WCBS-FM, and the Top One-Hit Wonders of the 60s, just to name a few.
One weekday each month, Tom reveals the results of “The List” in which, based on their tastes, hundreds of people rank the songs that made the national and New York top 20 weekly charts of a different month and year. Tom counts them down, along with some extras from the month in question, and announces the name(s) of the highest and lowest voter of each song on The List. Since March 2022, The List has examined just about every year from 1957 to 1988. If you’d like to participate in the monthly voting, and receive emails about Tom’s shows on Pop Gold Radio, here’s the link www.tunemagic.net/tomslist/
At The List site, in addition to placing your vote, you’ll also be able to view Tom’s upcoming show schedule and an archive of past List results (big thanks to Frank Thomas for the site!).
Each June, July and August, Tom looks back at the summer hits of various years. In addition, each November and December, he reviews the top hits of various years as well.
Beginning in September 2026, he’ll present a monthly series of the WABC New York Top 1500 Hits of the 60s.
We hope you have some time to tune in!

Your station is VERY COOL!
Thank you Brenda! Where are you?
Don Tandler
great music?
Thank you! Where are you listening to the station?
Don Tandler
the ONLY oldies station I could listen to! 🙂
Andi in New York City
Hey, Don
Listening in NYC suburbs. Love the station. It sounds amazing – like a three foot deep signal coming out of my smartradio. Wish you could have more live programing
Quick question: will you be able to survive the CRB’s new rates? I hope so.
I’m surviving month to month, Jared. I’m dependent on listener donations. So far, I’ve just squeaked over the line.
Don
Keep it up, Don. We’ll keep supporting you. You’re doing Gods work (and I mean that in a non-denomination, secular way 😉 ) Keep on keeping those oldies alive!
That is so nice of you to say, Jared. Given radionomy’s latest move, I may be the last station standing. Hope not.

Don…your show is one of the FEW left online in this country…almost everyone else is gone due to new internet radio government legislation
I’s an outrage.
Don
I would like to thank Don Tandler for answering my question about top 77 of 1977. You said it didn’t explain about 1978, and I guess it didn’t explain about 1981 and 1982. I again want to thank you for answering my question. Are you feeling any better? Please let me know. I once again thank you very much. I like the time machine survey shows you do on Saturday afternoons. When are you going to update upcoming shows? Please let know.
I Would like to ask Don Tandler how come about 2 years ago that the wabc top 100 songs of 1977 that was supposed to be held Labor Day weekend was held a week later? Please send me a response as soon as possible. Thank you very much.
I know it is taking a long time to fix the artist and title display. When will it be fixed? The last time I saw working properly was around October or November of 2016. Please let me know when it will be fixed. Thank you very much.
Listening to the Countdown in Brooklyn, NY on a cool Saturday afternoon – it’s a great place to listen to! 🙂
Hello on you Don!!! Your WOW! 100 show is really rockin’!! Great show as always and comforting
to listen to, especially during these craziest of times!
